There are some who believe that a company that makes a dangerous and addictive product cannot be responsible. We believe that responsibility is defined not only by the products a company makes, but also by the actions it takes.

Our approach to corporate responsibility

For Philip Morris USA, corporate responsibility is at the core of the Mission for Altria Group, our parent company. Our approach to corporate responsibility helps us understand what stakeholders expect of the company and the actions we can take to respond to those expectations.

Our leaders are responsible for:

  • understanding the public’s expectations of a responsible company, and determining how to respond to those expectations.
To understand the public’s expectations, we do many things, including but not limited to:

  • monitoring public literature and information;
  • conducting research, and engaging with stakeholders (seeking input from individuals or groups who are affected by or affect our business).
We pursue all of these efforts with responsibility in mind to support the sustainability of our business.

PM USA's role is to responsibly manufacture and market PM USA brands to adult tobacco consumers in a financially disciplined way.
