The Youth Smoking Prevention (YSP) department's grant program provides support to leading organizations and institutions dedicated to supporting positive youth development to help prevent youth smoking.

- Direct service
- YSP supports leading youth serving organizations’ efforts to administer programming that builds protective factors in youth
- Organizational Effectiveness
- YSP supports individual organizations in their efforts to improve the quality and expand the scope of direct service programming for youth ages 10 - 17
- Field Advancement
- YSP supports the Positive Youth Development (PYD) field by providing funding to conduct research, develop and disseminate tools and resources and address challenges to create better aligned and more effective youth programs and policies

YSP focuses its support on nonprofit youth serving organizations and programs that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Are leaders and/or significant influencers in the Positive Youth Development field.
- Employ an effective, holistic approach to Positive Youth Development that helps provide kids with protective factors they need to be safe, healthy and successful in life, and avoid smoking and other risky behaviors.
- Have the organizational infrastructure to create, implement and sustain quality programs that provide direct services to a large number of youth on a continuous basis.
- Deliver against their planned goals and have a system for measurement and evaluation.
- Are financially healthy and have secured additional funding partners.
- Agree to comply with PM USA's attribution guidelines. (See below.)

As YSP's activities have evolved, we have developed increasingly focused grant-making strategies in the fields of youth smoking prevention and positive youth development. In an effort to efficiently allocate our resources, we do not accept unsolicited requests for support.
Attribution Guidelines:When providing grants, we request that our company name not be used on materials that are intended to be distributed to or placed among children. However, in the interest of full disclosure, we request that organizations receiving grants from PM USA related to Positive Youth Development acknowledge such support from our company as they acknowledge support from other donors in communications intended for adults such as annual reports, newsletters and websites.
