2001

  • PM USA wins the Minority Supplier of the Year award in Virginia.
  • PM USA expanded employee health coverage and many company policies to include domestic partners.  

2002

  • PM USA is named a “Top 20” place to work in Puerto Rico by El Nuevo Dia publication. 

2003

  • PM USA Richmond received the "Disability Friendly Business Award" from the Virginia Board of Disability Services and the Business Leadership Network of the President's Commission on Employment of Individuals with Disabilities. The award was given based on our efforts to bring persons with disabilities into the workforce and our proactive approach to returning disabled employees to full productivity through accommodation. 

2004

  • PM USA conducted an employee survey to determine what makes our employees feel valued and to identify opportunities to continue to make PM USA an employer of choice for our current employees, as well as potential future PM USA employees. 

2005

  • PM USA was named by Richmond Magazine as one of the metro area's best places to work.  The Company's selection was based on a survey conducted by the magazine that included factors such as salaries, benefits, commitment to diversity, community involvement and employee satisfaction.
  • Michael E. Szymanczyk, chairman & CEO of PM USA, was honored by the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund at the 18th Annual Awards Dinner. The honorees were selected for their contributions to the foundation and their work with scholarship recipients and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  PM USA was a founding member of the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund and has provided more than $2 million for the merit-based scholarships that are awarded each year in addition to hiring many students from the fund’s member colleges and universities.
